Brief Introduction:

The Communist Party of Nepal-Marxist Leninist (CPN-ML) was formed on Tuesday, December 26, 1978. The party attempts to present itself as a party of proletariats class that represents the aspirations of wider public and the country. Assimilating the philosophies of Marx, Lenin and Mao Zedong, CPN-ML claims to have incorporated with due importance the democratic movements of Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia and New Democratic Revolution of China. The party also asserts to have constructively been implementing Marxism and Leninism while firmly believing in proletarian internationalism and anti-colonial nationalism.

In the CA Election-2008, CPN-ML failed to register victory in even a single constituency from FPTP. However, it managed to send eight members to CA from PR with a total of 243,545 votes. It was 2.27% of the total valid votes.
