BHAKTAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 – CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has cast his vote from Mahendra Shanti High School in Balkot VDC, Bhaktapur. Contesting from Jhapa-7 from the FPTP system, Oli had returned this morning from Jhapa to Bhaktapur to exercise his right to vote.
Talking to journalists after casting his vote, Oli said, "The Constituent Assembly formed by today's polls will draft a new constitution. The voters from the 18-year old first timers to 120 year-old senior citizens have also voted in the election. So we will have a new constitution this time."
Oli went on to say that the first election to the CA was conducted in an environment of fear. The CA formed by such election was not suitable for drafting constitution, which was the reason for its failure in its mission. "UCPN-Maoist had wrong objectives in the past that barred the constitution from being drafted," said Oli, stating that the differences among the parties were not the only reason behind the failure of the first CA.
"The CA formed this time will deliver a new constitution," Oli said, claiming that the results of this election would be different from the past. "The configuration of the CA this time will be different from the first election. The results this time will be favorable for drafting a constitution," Oli said.
Oli was defeated in the first CA Election from Jhapa-7, coming 1,140 votes behind the winner CPN (Maoist)'s Bishwadip Lingden Limbu. Oli is again contesting from the same constituency.

People walk for 3-4 hours to vote. The leaders, however, use helicopter to cover a distance of even just an hour's walking distance. Why does the EC not see this?

Those who capture booths are cowards, no matter whichever party carries it out. This is a disregard to the people's ballot. The election should be cancelled if the booth is captured.
