CPN-Maoists capture residence of UCPN-Maoist candidate in Salyan

SALYAN, NOVEMBER 11 – CPN-Maoist cadres have captured the residence of UCPN-Maoist candidate in Salyan-1 on Monday. Maoist cadres declared that they have captured the residence of Tek Bahadur Basnet, a UCPN-Maoist candidate of Salyan-1.

Central member of the CPN-Maoist Moha Lal Chand said that Basnet's residence in Kotmaula VDC-3 was now under their authority and informed that they had planted a bomb at the residence. CPN-Maoist also warned that the party would not be responsible for any untoward incident that might occur if anyone went there.

Police, on the other hand, stated that a suspicious package was indeed found at the residence along with a flag of the Maoist hoisted at the premises.

Likewise, suspicious objects were found at Janata Higher Secondary School in Sinwang. District Police Chief DSP Lal Mani Acharya said suspicious object were found at the school where an electoral assembly was planned by Salyan-2 candidate of UCPN-Maoist Bhim Prakash Sharma. A team of Nepali Army has headed towards the site, police said.
