Election Area: Jhapa-1
A resident of Mechinagar Municipality of Jhapa, Rabin Koirala was born on January 31, 1965 in Tharpu, Malbase-3 of Panchthar District. He is the son of Tanka Nath Koirala and Bhagiratha Koirala. He has two sons. He did hi I.L. from Ilam'sMahendraRatna Multiple Campus and B.L. from Kathmandu's Nepal Law Campus. He is contesting from Jhapa-1 in the CA Election 2013 representing CPN-UML.
Koirala was CPN-UML's District Committee member from 1991 till 2010 and is serving as district president from then on for two terms.
He was elected as ward member of Bahundangi VDC, Ward no. 5 in the local election of 1992 and also served as member of JhapaDistrict Development Committee's Area No. 8.Koirala was elected as mayor of Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa in the local election of 1997.
Koirala was active in politics since his school days. He became the chairman of the preliminary committee of ANNFSU in Vaani Secondary School-Lakhanpur and Saraswati Secondary School-Damak. He then went on to become ANNFSU Jhapa District Committee member and later became the district president.
Chairman of the Free Student Union of MahendraRatna Multiple Campus, Ilam from 1988 till 1991, Koiralawas elected as Central Committee member of ANNFSU by the organization's 8th to 11th National Conference.
Having jailed on numerous occasions during his student life and Panchayat period, Koirala went underground in connection with the party's activities while he was associated with CPN (ML) before 1991.
Having served as coordinator of Local Peace Committee of Jhapa for one term, Koirala is the chairman of Kakarbhitta Campus Management Committee and Kakarbhitta Higher Secondary School, while he holds the position of vice-chairman of the Manmohan Memorial Community Regional Hospital in Birtamod.
