Born on September, 1979 in Gumda-7 of Gorakha, a member of Tamuwan State Committee of UCPN-Maosit, Chham Bahadur Gurung plunged into politics from local committee of UCPN-Maoist in 1997.

With full time membership of the party in 2000, he remained underground during the armed conflict period and served as a district secretary of Tamu National Liberation Forum(TNLF), sister organization of UCPN-Maoist and a unit chairperson of Young Communist League.

Son of Mal Bahadur and Gir Maya Gurung, Chham serves as a central secretary at TNLF and an advisor at Suryoday Secondary School of Gumda. He has school education of grade 10.

He has a son.
