Ganesh Prasad Timilsina

Ganesh Timilsina was born on May 26, 1955 in Ramja Deurali VDC-8, Parbat. Son of Tulasi Prasad Padhya and Hira Devi, Timilsina has passed Proficiency Certificate Level from Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara. He is contesting from Parbat-1in the CA Election 2013 representing CPN-UML.
He was attracted to politics by the student protests in 1979 and became secretary of the CPN (ML)'s Red Guard. He was elected as member of ANNFSU's western regional committee in 1980. He took the membership of CPN (ML) in 1983.
Elected as FSU secretary of Prithvi Narayan Campus in 1985, Timilsina became a member of the ANNFSU's 8th National Convention Organizing Committee. The Panchayati Government issued warrant against him after the bomb incident in 1895.
He was jailed for four years since 1986 in various prisons in Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Taulihawa, Birgunj, Bhadragol and Nakkhu on charge of violating the Peace and Security Act. He became a member of the mechanism to launch the democracy movement in 1990. A bounty offer of Rs. 50 thousand was declared by the Panchayat Government then.
Elected as member of Democratic National Youth Association in 1991, Timilsina was posted in Mustang in connection with the party work. He also became secretary of CPN-UML's Mustang District Committee. In 1992, he became the UML's Baglung secretary and was elected as the party's alternative central member by the 6th General Convention. He currently is the Dhaulagiri District in-charge.
The 7th Convention of the UML held in Janakpur elected him as member of Central Advisory Committee and the 8th Convention in Butwal elected him as a central member. He is also the Parbat District coordinator.
Timilsina was elected as Ramja Deurali VDC chairman in 1993 and held the position again in 1998. He was elected as the chairman of Parbat District Development Committee the same year.

People walk for 3-4 hours to vote. The leaders, however, use helicopter to cover a distance of even just an hour's walking distance. Why does the EC not see this?

Those who capture booths are cowards, no matter whichever party carries it out. This is a disregard to the people's ballot. The election should be cancelled if the booth is captured.
